Landscaping Tips

Planting is not just during Spring and Fall. Carefully selected plants and trees will give your property a perpetual color arrangement, even in the height of summer heat!

Blooming Native Gardens can show you how to maximize your landscape, cut costs and save precious water.

Soil preparation

Purchase your soil and compost from a reputable vendor and avoid “bargain” soil or you’ll spend time and effort fighting weeds later.

Which Plants?

Select plants in Zone 6 which is the most suitable for our area and gives a little room for all elevation variations that we live in – this zone will allow all of our micro-climates and help you pick the best plants for this high desert ecosystem.

Color Design

Plant large swaths of color rather than mixed colors. In dark areas use whites, pinks and yellows so they may be seen from a distance. The whites and pastels are also visible in night landscapes.
